This forum has been conceived out of a long-felt need expressed by many of the Gastro-intestinal Surgeons in India for mutual exchange of ideas, problems and experiences on the academic front. The forum is exclusive for all GI surgeons who are members of the professional bodies as Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology and Indian Hepato-biliary pancreatic Association.

The possibilities the Forum can present in the form of academic fare are enormous. The Forum is intended to be a dynamic site with facilities for interaction among members and holds a promise for rich and exclusive content in the form of Case capsules, Discussion Boards, Journal Clubs etc. As any dynamic site is only as good as the interaction and contribution from the members is, the quality of the Forum is totally dependent on the members.

The Forum also proposes to offer a facility for online database of your patients with certain common diseases of GI Surgical interest. The site promises simple proformas and datasets that can be filled on line and which are accessible only to the concerned member. The idea is to have uniform content that can be compiled and collated at a later date should all the members so decide, with the express consent of the members. I am sure you all agree that this is the only way to develop multi-centre data content and may I earnestly appeal to you all to give it a try. I assure you that your data will be absolutely secure and will be visible only to your eyes till you are ready to share it with others.
